	Henley Royal Regatta 1-5 July 2009 What better way to spend a quintessentially English day than at Henley Royal Regatta with its idyllic riverside setting. Steeped in a tradition going back more than 150 years, Henley attracts Olympic and first class oarsmen from around the world. Unlike multi-lane international regattas, Henley still operates a knockout draw with only two boats racing in each heat. This results in up to 100 races on some of the five days, providing a non-stop programme of racing.
	Goodwood Festival of Speed 3-5 July 2009 There is no other event in the world like the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is, quite simply, the greatest gathering of motor racing machinery on the planet, attracting stars and cars to Goodwood Park from every corner of motor racing's Hall of Fame. The Festival is much more than a motor racing event - it is a high point of the English sporting summer and a social occasion not to be missed. 	Glorious Goodwood Festival 28 July - 1 August 2009 Set high on the Sussex Downs with dramatic views of the Solent, Goodwood is arguably the most beautiful racecourse in the world. An event not to be missed because of the usually hot weather, fantastic racing and high fashion on show.
	Skandia Cowes Week 1-8 August 2009 Skandia Cowes Week is one of Britain's largest annual sporting events and the world's longest running sailing regatta. Not only does it inspire some excellent racing, it boasts a vibrant social scene with lots happening every day and night.
	Goodwood Revival 18-20 September 2009 The Revival is the only sporting event in the world set entirely to a period theme. Every year, spectators and competitors take a magical step back in time by getting into the effervescent Goodwood spirit. The majority of visitors dress in appropriate clothing from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, considering it all part of the fun.
